maybe because the bombs have been around for 70 years and humans have been warring for 6000

Nuclear Terrorism? Yeah, the other name for it is Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

mikeloyst  on January 7th, 2009

thats because before the invention of the nuclear bomb warfare had not evolved past the point of two lines walking directly toward each other shooting.

Global Thermonuclear War, A strange game, the only winning move is not to play.

How about a nice game of chess?

Jurassicparkz08  on January 7th, 2009

A single nuclear weapon could do all that? That’s messed up

less then the soviet union shilgenvens

s6d6j6  on January 7th, 2009

ya but its not directly because of nuclear bombs

We already dropped a uranium & plutonium bomb around 10 kilotons in 1945 on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They vaporized everything within a 1/2 mile dia & the total dia was 2.8 miles at 1/10 of their capabilities.
Our current variants are 500 kilotons. One would do damage from 25 - 600 miles depending on the blast wave overpressure psi, terrain & delivery method. It’s probable it would create a impact winter globally & would change the planet for decades or centuries depending on the trade winds.

it may be difficult to believe, but there have been far less deaths due to war after the invention of the atom bomb than before the invemtion of it.

How many WMDs does the US have?

ssssssssss12  on January 7th, 2009

Cool, i never new how it worked

kainalo3  on January 7th, 2009

i hope we never face a day when USA use nuclear bombs

ododidit  on January 7th, 2009

if any nukes go off, people will need to ask who had the power to do it and who was to gain from it!! i certainly dont believe for a minute that a terrorist group or country supporting them would gain anything but hardship and war, i can however think of people much closer to home who would!!

TeHengaGreen  on January 7th, 2009

Yep, imagine the devestation if the final stage was in place!? It was never a practical, deliverable weapon though. It was too large for ICBM delivery, and a plane would be brought down easily long before it got near its intended target. Also it was so large if it had been used in any european NATO countries, there was no way of ensuring there would be no damage or fallout within the WARSAW pact countries!! A double edged sword perhaps?

um uranium bombs are atomic bombs

jibbi4one  on January 7th, 2009

I’ll read the book.
Author writes about simplistic security. The ‘backyard’ nuke bomb builders is load of BS. Some nations abandon efforts to build nuke bombs because of cost and complexity spent better on other pursuit.Pound-for-pound nuke WMD is not weapon of choice because (neutron bomb) its ‘rad poisons’ destroys most things in blast radius. Better WMB is one that leaves infrastructure intact.
Anti-nuke bomb or system which renders nuke bomb dis-functional is good. Best is trust treaty.

The Tsar Bomba had the potential to be brought up to 100MT, but one of the stages was removed for tesing

Hellblazer302  on January 7th, 2009

and Uranim bombs are more powerful than Atomic Bombs.

brothergrice  on January 7th, 2009

That’s pretty frightening. (Like the “auto harp master” video) I think the missing briefcase nukes from the USSR are a real threat.

thewseshow  on January 7th, 2009

that was da bomb

guerrillap1mp  on January 7th, 2009

everyone is aware of the effect it will have,WW3. but if you think that will stop ahmadinejad your wrong, to the contrary. he is part of a group that believes it is their duty to hasten the return of the mahdi and the mahdi can only return when the world is at its worst. so connect the dots. don’t underestimate these religous fanatics they think they are fulfilling gods will

Check The Guinness World Record Books under smallest nuclear weapon. Its a sweet little thing brought to you by the USA. Just like that cannon. LOL!
